Anritsu's clock recovery unit allows E/O-O/E converter to evaluate OTN devices, modules, and systems
Anritsu Co. has introduced the MU967703A clock recovery unit (CRU) that enables the MP9677B E/O-O/E converter to evaluate Optical Transport Network (OTN) devices, modules and systems operating at 10.709 Gbits/sec per ITU-T G.709 OTU-2.
The addition of the MU967703A further enhances the performance of the MP9677B, which is the only combined E/O and O/E converter in the world with the 80-MHz clock recovery bandwidth required for accurate jitter measurement at 10 Gbits/sec, as specified in the ITU-T 0.172 standard, contend company representatives.
With the introduction of the MU967703A, three separate CRUs are now available for integration with the MP9677B. In addition to the MU967703A for OTN 10.709-Gbits/sec rates, Anritsu also offers CRUs supporting 9.953-Gbits/sec and 10.664-Gbits/sec FEC rates. Separate CRUs provide customers with cost efficiencies and flexibility. As is the case with the other CRUs, the MU967703A is designed with a bandwidth selector that enables the recovered clock to switch between "Wide" or "Narrow" bandwidth mode, depending upon whether jitter or BER measurements need to be made.
The MP9677B can be used with Anritsu's MP1763C/MP1764C 12.5-Gbits/sec bit error rate test (BERT) systems or the MP1570A/A1 SONET/SDH and MP1777A Jitter Analyzers to provide complete OC-192/STM-64 jitter measurement solutions. Both configurations completely comply with the ITU-T O.172 standard.
