Sify taps ADVA as strategic technology partner to support managed Ethernet services

Sept. 16, 2019
In this role, ADVA will supply Sify with the ADVA FSP 150, which the ICT service provider will deploy to support the delivery of a new managed Ethernet service.

ADVA (FSE: ADV) says India-based Sify Technologies Ltd. has selected the optical communications technology supplier as a strategic partner. In this role, ADVA will supply Sify with the ADVA FSP 150, which the ICT service provider will deploy to support the delivery of a new managed Ethernet service.

The FSP 150 will be used to enable multi-layer demarcation and aggregation for the managed Ethernet service, which will leverage Sify’s MPLS core network across India to supply SLA-assured Layer 2 VPN connectivity. Sify’s new service aims to streamline operations, cut costs, and enable end-user customers to take advantage of new business opportunities. Sify also will use the ADVA platforms to support its wholesale service business.

“Our new managed Ethernet offering fills the final gap in our portfolio. With ADVA as our technology partner, we can roll out high-capacity Layer 2 services with total flexibility and bring intelligence and automation to the edge of our enterprise network,” said Harsha Ram, vice president, telecom services, at Sify. ”The ADVA FSP 150 delivers new levels of agility for service innovation. It empowers us to provide the ideal solution for the budget, strategy and technical needs of each and every customer. What’s more, with ADVA’s technology, we can put IP traffic control at the end user’s fingertips. With incredible speed and efficiency, customers can take charge of their services, managing IP addresses and altering IP routing without restriction.”

In addition to providing connectivity within India, Sify also has presences in Europe and the U.S. (see, for example, “Sify establishes point of presence at Interxion’s data center in Marseille”).
