Network services provider ExteNet Systems says it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Hudson Fiber Network. Terms of the deal to acquire the nationwide fiber provider of fiber-optic network services were not disclosed.

ExteNet, based in Lisle, IL, first revealed its intention to acquire Hudson Fiber Network at the end of this past May. Hudson Fiber Network began operations with a focus on metro New York/New Jersey, before expanding across the U.S. (see “Hudson Fiber Network finishes U.S. nationwide fiber-optic network”). The company also provided connectivity to Europe (see “Hudson Fiber Network taps euNetworks for low-latency London fiber-optic route”).

"Businesses require access to a fast, reliable and secure broadband infrastructure, especially as more rely on cloud-hosted applications and services," said Ross Manire, president and CEO of ExteNet Systems. "Besides enhancing our fiber footprint in key markets, Hudson Fiber provides us a blueprint to address the advanced communication needs of enterprises. I am extremely pleased to welcome the Hudson Fiber team and their clients to the ExteNet family. Our people, processes, and customer service differentiate us, and I am extremely pleased that this transaction further strengthens our team."

"The combination of ExteNet and Hudson Fiber ensures a comprehensive set of outdoor, in-building, and enterprise connectivity solutions for service providers, property owners and enterprise clients,” added Brett Diamond, Hudson Fiber Network CEO. “I am looking forward to joining ExteNet's management team and leveraging their purpose-built fiber network, people, and resources to serve our growing customer base better."

Diamond will indeed join ExteNet as head of the company’s Optical Network Solutions (ONS) business unit, reporting to Manire. The ONS offers dark fiber, dedicated internet access (DIA), secure private networks, and cloud connectivity services to enterprise customers.

The acquisition is the ExteNet’s second in the New York/New Jersey area, following the purchase of MetroFiber/Axiom Fiber Networks in 2017 (see “ExteNet Systems to buy fiber-optic network provider Axiom Fiber Networks”).
