JUNE 19, 2008 -- StrataLight Communications, Inc. (search for StrataLight), a supplier of 40-Gbit/sec optical transmission subsystems, is now offering an enhanced-reach 40G product line for its OTS-4000 subsystem based on differential phase-shift keying (DPSK; search for DPSK) technology.

Since 2004, StrataLight has been shipping its phase-shaped binary transmission (PSBT) product family based on its OTS-4000 platform. While the PSBT product addresses the short- to long-haul market (less than 1,000 km), the DPSK technology is aimed at the long-haul to ultralong haul (greater than 1,000 km) market, suited for nationwide and pan-continental network deployments.

This product line is comprised of OTS-4040-DPSK, a full standards (OTU3, OC-768/STM-256) compliant, 40G tunable DWDM transponder; OTS-4011-DPSK, a standards (OTU3, OC-768/STM-256, OTU2, OC-192/STM-64, 10GbE LAN/WAN) compliant 4x10G to 40G multiplexing tunable DWDM transponder; and OTS-4400-DPSK, a universal 40G tunable DWDM regenerator to further extend the reach of both of the aforementioned products.
