Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN) says it has supplied its DTN-X packet-optical transport systems to Dacom Crossing of Korea. The international IP communications provider has installed the optical transport equipment to create an integrated fiber-optic network that links its infrastructure in Seoul to its terrestrial backhaul network and the EAC Korea landing station.

The sale is Infinera’s first in Korea. Dacom Crossing provides wholesale services to Tier 1 carriers, ISPs, and content providers. The new network will enable Dacom Crossing to offer 10, 40, and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) services as well as its existing international private leased circuit services of up to 10 Gbps.

"The DTN-X allows us to scale our network as needed based on customer demand, while providing unprecedented speed and reliability," said J.H. Kim, Dacom Crossing’s CEO. "Coupled with the Instant Bandwidth feature, which allows us to deploy increments of 100G services, Infinera's solutions enable differentiation by shortening provisioning times, accelerating service delivery, and reducing time to revenue."

"Dacom Crossing is now providing South Korea with its first Intelligent Transport Network, featuring the industry's only solution designed with photonic integrated circuits," said Andrew Bond-Webster, vice president APAC Sales for Infinera. "Our solution's ability to quickly and reliably provide network services on demand, with the ability to scale in the most efficient manner, really stood out against our competitors."
