Fibre Channel hub
The 2 ¥ 5 Hub is a dual-loop 10-port Fibre Channel hub for cluster and network environments. The hub`s 10 fiber-optic ports support either two 5-port loops or up to 10 ports in a single loop. Multiple hubs may be cascaded to support larger configurations up to a total of 126 Fibre Channel nodes. The hub offers switchable dual-loop technology, which enables parallel access to fiber channel devices supporting dual connections. The 2 ¥ 5 Hub can repeat and re-time the data signal, which extends user distances and maintains signal clarity. Vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers are also built into the system.
