Tellabs Inc. of Lisle, IL, hopes its recent merger with Coherent Communications Systems Corp. of Ashburn, VA, will boost its echo canceller activity and result in new speech processing products. Under the agreement, Coherent becomes a subsidiary of Tellabs, which designs, markets, and services voice and data transport and access systems. Coherent designs, manufactures, and markets echo cancellation and conferencing products.
