Orange to deploy 100-Gbps wavelengths via Ekinops

In a major coup for the company, Ekinops will supply 100-Gbps optical transmission technology to Orange. The France-based service supplier will use the Ekinops technology, based on the Ekinops 360 platform, on its international long-haul networks.

Ekinips says Orange selected its platform after both laboratory and field trials showed the 360 platform can be deployed quickly and is easy to manage, operate and integrate into existing fiber-optic networks. Deployments on Orange's 18,000-km terrestrial high-speed network should begin in the second half of this year. Orange operates the network in Europe, the U.S., and Singapore.
