Zayo to grow fiber network footprint for customers in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, IN
Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. says it plans a fiber network infrastructure and service expansion to benefit customers in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, IN.
The fiber footprint growth will include the addition of more than 200 route miles throughout the state over the next two years. The company’s plans include the development of a new fiber route from South Bend, IN, to Grand Rapids, MI; a long-haul dark fiber route between Indianapolis and St. Louis, MO, also will open by year’s end, according to Zayo. The fiber network services supplier also says it will launch wavelength services of up to 400 Gbps in the first quarter of 2022 from Indianapolis to Columbus, OH, and Chicago, IL.
Zayo adds that it also will offer its new Shielded Internet Access secure service (see “Zayo touts bundled Shielded Internet Access for U.S., Canadian customers”). The service bundles Zayo’s Dedicated Internet Access, DDoS Protection, and CloudLink offerings.
“Indianapolis and Fort Wayne are homes to both major brands and local tech startups that are increasing area demand for reliable connectivity,” said Dan Stoll, managing director, head of Regional Network Sales at Zayo. “We are committed to continued investment in the region to support customers’ demand for diverse, high-capacity fiber connectivity to enable their growth and ability to innovate. Zayo’s unmatched network combined with the Shielded Internet Access offer provides customers in the market with the bandwidth that takes them anywhere they need to be in the most convenient, cost-effective way possible.”
“Fast, reliable connectivity is a major selling point when it comes to quality of life and bringing jobs—particularly tech jobs—to our community,” commented Ellen Cutter, vice president of economic development at Greater Fort Wayne Inc. “As we continue to build a nationally recognized economy in the region, we look forward to working with partners like Zayo to provide high-quality digital infrastructure for residents and businesses alike.”
