Spread Networks provides 300G fiber-optic backbone for Sunesys
Spread Networks LLC reports that it has entered into an agreement with Sunesys LLC to provide a 300-Gbps fiber-optic network between data centers in Chicago, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
Spread Networks will power a portion of Sunesys’s recently announced lit services product expansion and new state-of-the-art data center transport network, “SunTran.” The SunTran network provides Ethernet, private wavelength, and IP services in each of Sunesys’s regional markets serving the healthcare, carrier, education, and enterprise business sectors. SunTran also provides high-speed network transport to over 60 key data center locations across the United States, connecting Sunesys’s regional networks.
Spread Networks’ telecommunication backbone service will support Sunesys’s long-haul pathways between Chicago and other parts of Illinois, Delaware, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and additional areas of Pennsylvania, Ashburn in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York.
Sunesys says Spread Networks is the ideal partner to connect these key portions of the network between Chicago, Pennsylvania, and New York. “Their newly installed long-haul fiber-optic network provides a state-of-the-art foundation for this portion of our SunTran network, and will allow us to meet the needs of the numerous verticals and services we offer – Ethernet, wavelength, IP, enterprise, healthcare, and carrier alike,” said Sunesys Senior Vice President Alan Katz.
Construction is underway to connect the Spread and Sunesys networks in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, with the service expected to be fully operational by June 2014.
