Fiber-optic network provider Unite Private Networks (UPN) has partnered with Omaha-based 1st State Bank. UPN is providing Ethernet private-line services, allowing 1st State Bank to securely build a private, 100% fiber network connecting five banks together with their processing center.
"After reviewing the many alternatives available for the best Internet and connectivity to all our branches, UPN's fiber was the clear choice," said Derek Randecker, CIO of 1st State Bank in Omaha. "We are very excited about the possible increases in productivity from the gain in speeds, especially Omaha to Gothenburg, going from 1.5 MB to 50 MB. The people at Unite Private Networks have been great to work with from planning this project to kicking it off the ground."
