TeliaSonera International Carrier taps Coriant for pan-European expansion
TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC), part of the TeliaSonera Group, has selected the DCM-free hiT 7300 DWDM platform from optical transport vendor Coriant GmbH to enable 100G connectivity across its new Warsaw-Brno-Frankfurt route.
The new route expands TSIC’s existing pan-European, pan-North American, and transatlantic DWDM network. The carrier says the route enhances diversity in an important traffic corridor and enables higher performance for its services.
“The addition of this new Warsaw-Brno-Frankfurt fiber delivers increased diversity and higher performance on a strategic route supporting not just our Polish and German customers but also for those in the Baltics, Eastern Europe, and beyond,” said Brendan Ives, president of TeliaSonera International Carrier.
Coriant has been TISC’s primary DWDM supplier since 2005. The European section of TSIC’s network was 100G-enabled with Coriant’s hiT 7300 DWDM Europe-wide in March 2013 (see “TeliaSonera covers Europe and North America with 100G networks”).
