Zolo Technologies, Inc., an emerging optical networking sub-systems developer and manufacturer founded in 1999 by optical networking companies, began delivery of a single-input, 40-channel Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) device that combines high-performance, scalability, reliability and cost-efficiency with a design that facilitates high-yield production.
Representing Zolo's first formal product launch in the Zmux family of DWDM products, several metro and long-haul optical networking systems companies are taking delivery of evaluation units in anticipation of general market availability within the next few months.
The single-input, 40-channel "Zmux 1:40" is a passively athermal device that incorporates a proven, NEBS-compliant grating-based technology to provide an increase in bandwidth at a lower cost per channel, low insertion loss and low polarization dependent loss (PDL) all in a small-footprint package - making it suitable for next generation optical networking systems.
The Zmux's uncomplicated design allows telecommunications companies to build out their optical networks to meet increasing demands for broadband services.
