Advanced Lighting Technologies announces qualification of DSI's Microdyn WDM filter

May 21, 2001--Advanced Lighting Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADLT) announced that DSI's line of IsoFilter WDM filters, which provide cost-effective solutions for the growing metro and local loop systems, continue to expand.

Advanced Lighting Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADLT) announced that DSI's line of IsoFilter WDM filters, which provide cost-effective solutions for the growing metro and local loop systems, continue to expand. Significant events include qualification of custom IsoFilter products by a provider of metro and local loop systems that expects to introduce new products incorporating DSI's MicroDyn designed and produced WDM filters.

DSI has been selected as the recommended supplier of the WDM filters based on the company's design and ability of the MicroDyn process to provide rapid capacity ramps to a level of several millions of filters annually.

DSI has identified the fiber-to-the-business (FTTB), fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) environments as a target growth opportunity for the IsoFilter WDM filters product line.
