ADVA introduces new FSP network planner

July 3, 2001
July 3, 2001--ADVA Optical Networking introduced the FSP network planner, a software tool designed to simplify the process of planning and designing networks based on its Fiber Service Platform 3000 metro transport solutions together with ADVA's feeder products.

ADVA Optical Networking (German Neuer Markt: ADV) introduced the FSP network planner, a software tool designed to simplify the process of planning and designing networks based on its Fiber Service Platform (FSP) 3000 metro transport solutions together with ADVA's feeder products. The FSP network planner comes with an intuitively rich graphical user interface and enables Service Providers to rapidly deploy complex networking solutions.

The FSP network planner is a Windows-based program which guides the user through a step-by-step process of determining the overall network requirements, and subsequently calculates the optimal network plan to satisfy these requirements. It provides the overall topology, architecture, wavelength plan, and the equipment requirements -- it even produces a detailed part list (including the respective prices) and a cable running list if required.

Beta-tested extensively by ADVA's service provider customers, a live demonstration of the FSP network planner can also be seen at the ADVA booth #4408 at NFOEC 2001 in Baltimore on July 9-12.
