June 1, 2001--TeraBurst Networks, Inc., a developer of carrier-grade optical core switching systems, announced it has successfully demonstrated interoperability between its Optical Management System (OMS) products and Atoga Systems' Optical Application Router (OAR) products.

TeraBurst Networks, Inc., a developer of carrier-grade optical core switching systems, announced it has successfully demonstrated interoperability between its Optical Management System (OMS) products and Atoga Systems' Optical Application Router (OAR) products.

The interoperability of TeraBurst's core switching system with Atoga's service aggregation platform provides carriers with a superior, cost effective, end-to-end service grooming solution by combining enhanced service flexibility at the edge with efficient optical switching and transport in the core. TeraBurst and Atoga will demonstrate the interoperability of their complementary platforms in Booth 9059 at SuperComm 2001, June 5-7 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

Building upon the interoperability between the OMS and OAR and to provide customers with an integrated solution, TeraBurst and Atoga have also signed a letter of intent to initiate a joint sales and marketing program.

TeraBurst's patent-pending OMS wavelength-level switching systems are based on a hybrid OMO (optical-millimeter wave-optical) technology that combines the quality of digital and the speed of photonics at a price/performance exceeding both. TeraBurst's solutions are designed to enable carriers to efficiently manage their optical channel capacity including dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM), drive new revenue opportunities, differentiate themselves through value-added services, and reduce operating expenses through network management. The OMS offers system capacity of up to 640 Gbps in a compact half-rack footprint with low power consumption.
