March 12, 2001
Mar. 12, 2001--Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc., a supplier of fiber optic components and integrated modules for the optical network equipment market, announced its patent pending v-collimator thin-film filter technology has enabled the release of an all passive, filter based, 50GHz optical Add/Drop multiplexer product suite.

Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc. (Nasdaq:AFOP), a supplier of fiber optic components and integrated modules for the optical network equipment market, announced its patent pending v-collimator thin-film filter technology has enabled the release of an all passive, filter based, 50GHz optical Add/Drop multiplexer product suite.

This series of Add/Drop modules achieves 50GHz bandwidths over telecommunications operating conditions without temperature compensation. AFOP's further patent-pending high isolation technology delivers residual isolation at dropped channels better than -35 dB. In addition, these products offer high wavelength accuracy and stability, low insertion loss, high directivity, an epoxy-free optical path, and low Polarization Dependent Loss. AFOP 50GHz OADM modules are available in standard ITU wavelengths with 1, 2, 4, and 8 channel Add/Drop configurations.

This advanced product suite is designed for long haul and metropolitan core network applications and allows for greater design flexibility and lower applied OADM costs. AFOP also offers custom wavelengths, channel configurations, and packaging upon request.
