Carrier-neutral colocation services provider TELEHOUSE America says it has partnered with German WDM optical component and subsystems developer Cube Optics AG for the supply of DWDM technology.

In addition to DWDM systems, Cube Optics also will supply line protection devices to provide full redundancy at a lower cost than relying on dark fiber.

TELEHOUSE America provides dedicated data centers, international Internet exchanges, and managed IT services to a variety of clients via 44 branded data centers in 23 cities throughout Asia, Africa, North America, and EMEA. It also provides connectivity to major peering exchanges in New York (NYIIX) and Los Angeles (LAIIX).

“We are currently using Cube Optics DWDM solution to connect two of our major NYIIX peering sites: 60 Hudson and 85 Tenth Avenue,” says Andrey Azarkin, senior network engineer. “We also plan to deploy the solution across the entire NYIIX network and migrate to a next-generation platform, improving performance and reliability overall.”

“TELEHOUSE, with its line-protected DWDM architectural approach, sets itself apart in its chosen markets as providing the most reliable, most scalable metro transport carriage in the industry”, states Mark Carpenter, Director of North American Sales at Cube Optics. “It is our pleasure to work in strategic partnership with the forward-thinking team at TELEHOUSE.”
