PacketLight Networks offers 200G multiprotocol, multi-rate muxponder/transponder/ADM
Optical transport systems specialist PacketLight Networks has introduced the PL-2000AD, a 200-Gbps multiprotocol, multi-rate muxponder/transponder/add-drop multiplexer (ADM).
The PL-2000AD leverages pluggable optical transceivers, digital signaling processing, encryption, and Optical Transport Network (OTN) cross connect capabilities to offer up to a total of 200-Gbps optical transport in a modular and cost-effective platform, the company says. The system reduces power consumption, saves rack space, accelerates deployment, and reduces opex and capex in enterprise, metro, and long-haul fiber-optic networks, PackeLight adds.
The PL-2000AD aggregates multiple transmissions into dual 100G OTU4 uplinks with an OTN cross connect matrix. Supported protocols include 10G/40G/100G LAN, STM-64/OC-192, OTU2/3/4, and 8G/10G/16G/32G Fibre Channel.
Operators can use PacketLight's web-based management tool as well as the company's LightWatch NMS/EMS for provisioning, full event logging, line and service performance monitoring, and scalable network management.
