Matrix switch

The M¥N matrix switch routes signals without optical-to-electrical conversions in dense WDM, fddi, Sonet, and Fibre Channel networks. Two models are available in up to 16 ¥ 16 simplex or duplex configurations. Directional matrix switches connect each input to one output. Distributional matrix switches connect each input to one, several, or all outputs simultaneously. Insertion loss is 1.5 dB typical, isolation is 80 dB minimum, and backreflection is -55 dB maximum.
