Telenor inks ZTE to IP/WDM global framework agreement
ZTE Corp. (0763.HK/000063.SZ) says it has landed a global framework agreement (GFA) with Norway-based mobile operator Telenor that covers IP/WDM network hardware. The agreement streamlines the purchase of optical transport and other communications hardware from the Chinese systems house.
The agreement covers a wide range of systems. The IP products focused on IP core, metro Ethernet, and IP RAN applications. They include the core network ZXR10 T800 and the metro IP RAN aggregation ZXR10, M6000-S, and ZXCTN 9000-E. The access-focused ZXCTN 6100 series is included, as are the ZXR10 5900E and ZXR10 8900E Multiprotocol Labeling Switching (MPLS) switches.
Meanwhile, ZTE also may supply such WDM systems as the ZXONE 9700 to meet core, metro, and access requirements.
“With the existing equipment and service agreement, Telenor's market approach and technology are completely integrated with ZTE's technical strength in bearer network product research and development. We'll continue to focus on the customer's mobile broadband development demands to provide better service for Telenor's global consumers,” said Xu Ming, general manager of ZTE's Bearer Network Product Line.
