Network operator Master deploys DWDM fiber connections in southeastern Brazil
Master, a telecommunications service provider in Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, has deployed a DWDM network to connect Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais, to the capitals of the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro using equipment from Padtec. According to the optical network hardware supplier, the network includes more than 1,500 km of lit fiber infrastructure
The service provider plans to use the new DWDM fiber network as a platform to expand beyond its current service areas in Minas Gerais and São Paulo. The infrastructure includes Padtec’s 100G- and 200G-per-channel transponders, compact hybrid amplifiers, and route protection systems. Padtec also is supplying operational management services for Master's communication networks. Such services include technical support and monitoring through its network operations center.
“In this sense, Padtec is an important ally for the evolution of our optical networks,” commented Diego Aquino, Master's engineering director. “In addition to the technical quality of its equipment, the installation, operation, and maintenance services offered by the company are a differential that favors the growth of our network infrastructure in a sustainable way.
“The goal this year is to further expand the capacity of our transmission networks, using solutions capable of preparing them to meet the demands of the present and the future. This is the case of Padtec's 800-Gbps line of transponders, for example,” Diego continued.
“By offering a complete solution for telecommunications services, which ranges from system planning to the installation, operation, and maintenance of networks, we add value to our delivery and provide more security and comfort to our customers,” stated Argemiro Sousa, Padtec's business director.
