Padtec provides 200G DWDM systems to Mercantil for bank data center interconnect
Padtec says it has supplied its 200G DWDM transponders and route protection systems to Banco Mercantil do Brasil for use in the bank’s data center interconnect infrastructure. The data centers are in Belo Horizonte, the capital city of Brazil’s Minas Gerais state.
The 200G DWDM transponders will transmit aggregated 16G Fibre Channel traffic among the data centers. The transponders will pair with Padtec's LightPad i6400G platform.
“Customer experience is one of the pillars of the digital transformation we are experiencing. And, in the world of finance, investing in high-capacity infrastructure is essential to remain competitive and continue to offer customers unique digital experiences,” according to Robson Oliveira, Banco Mercantil do Brasil’s infrastructure coordinator. “In the case of financial institutions, this means looking for solutions that allow more effective use of transport networks and that provide a high level of security, availability, transmission, and storage of data. In this regard, Padtec is an important ally. In addition to the technical quality of its equipment, the installation, operation, and maintenance services offered by the company are a differential that favors the sustainable growth of our network infrastructure.”
“Offering a complete telecommunications service solution, which includes everything from system planning to network installation, operation, and maintenance, adds strength to our portfolio and to the company,” commented Argemiro Sousa, Padtec's business director. “For this support, we now have more than 40 points of presence distributed throughout all regions of Brazil and in Argentina and Colombia.”
