Huawei used the CEBIT 2018 trade show earlier this month to announce and sign a software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) commercial deployment framework contract with Broadnet. The technology company says its SD-WAN portfolio will enable the Norwegian service providerto deliver enhanced private-line offerings to European enterprise customers.
Broadnet will use the SD-WAN capabilities to supply enterprise customers with affordable, on-demand private-line services with cloud-based, visualized operations and maintenance (O&M). Huawei says Broadnet can also use its entire customer premises equipment (CPEs) series to provide WAN connections for enterprises of various sizes and networking demands and reduce the time-to-market of new services.
Huawei's SD-WAN services back intuitive traffic steering and application acceleration based on precise application identification to attain critical service experience without loss. According to Huawei, Broadnet can deliver differentiated application service level agreement (SLA) assurance thanks to the technology.
Broadnet is a fiber-based data communications service provider that offers enterprise data communications services, including fiber-based VPN, Internet, and Ethernet. Broadnet has a nationwide fiber network of 24,000 km and connects more than 90 cities and towns throughout Norway.
"With Huawei's leading SD-WAN solution, Broadnet will have significant advantages in the Norwegian datacom service market, especially regarding flexibility and timeliness of user service provisioning," said Martin Lippert, Broadnet's CEO. "Through the excellent management team and effective market expansion tactics of Broadnet, we are confident that Broadnet will gain a larger share in Norway's enterprise business market and even the Nordic market, while providing private line services with higher quality for enterprise users."
Huawei also used the CEBIT 2018 trade show to introduce the OSN 9800 M24 as its new enterprise backbone flagship WDM product (see "Huawei's OSN 9800 M24 addresses enterprise backbones").
