Tropic Networks addresses global sales

SEPTEMBER 07, 2006 � Tropic Networks, a developer of metro regional ROADM systems, is expanding its global operations to continue to serve the needs of the company's customer base and to meet the increasing demands for its next generation networking products.

SEPTEMBER 07, 2006 � Tropic Networks (search for Tropic Networks), a developer of metro regional ROADM systems (search for ROADM information), is expanding its global operations to continue to serve the needs of the company's customer base and to meet the increasing demands for its next generation networking products.

Effective immediately, Judy Donovan and Richard Matthews will join the team to further penetrate the cable MSO market globally. Based in the United States, Matthews and Donovan bring over 40 years of combined experience of business development and sales to the cable marketplace.

Matthews has extensive experience selling to the cable MSO market. Most recently he was the vice president of sales for World Wide Packets. He was previously senior vice president of sales for Arris. Matthews will be based in Pennsylvania.

Donovan was a key member of the OpVista team as vice president, sales and was instrumental in closing deals with Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable. She will be based in Colorado.

In addition, Tropic Networks is announcing the appointment of Mohamed Beghdadi, who will be responsible for establishing Tropic's presence in the EMEA region. Based in France, Beghdadi has 15 years of business development experience in the telecommunications sector, with both Alcatel and more recently Sycamore Networks.

"Our MSO sales have expanded significantly this year and we now provide one of, if not the, largest all optical mesh based ROADM networks in the world. In addition to that, given some recent overseas sales success and the increased levels of interest in EMEA and APAC, these additions to the sales team are very timely."
