DECEMBER 9, 2009 -- Optelian says its LightGAIN Optical Transport System has been verified by Brocade Communications Systems Inc. as being compatible with Brocade-based storage-area networking (SAN) infrastructures, in accordance with the testing requirements of the Brocade Data Center Ready Program.

The program is an initiative designed to foster interoperability in multi-vendor, Brocade-based data center environments.

“The successful completion of Brocade’s compatibility testing is a strong link in the chain of acceptance testing completed for our customers and is further evidence of the compatibility of Optelian’s carrier-grade systems with the diverse elements of the network,” said Dave Mills, vice president of sales and service at Optelian. “Our customer base and our technology alliances are a testament to the excellent design and proven reliability of Optelian’s LightGAIN systems.”

The LightGAIN system configuration tested was a 40-channel DWDM system with protection path switching. Optelian says the LightGAIN DWDM Optical Network System is typically one-third the size and uses approximately one-third the power of many competitive systems.
