DECEMBER 9, 2008 -- FiberLight LLC, Atlanta-based provider of metro optical transport services, says it is partnering with BandCon, a content delivery provider, to extend the latter's footprint into the South Florida market.
BandCon will deploy FiberLight's Lightsource suite to extend its Miami data center to Ft. Lauderdale as the company continues to expand its national footprint. FiberLight, which offers a 287-mile diverse metro ring infrastructure extending from the city of North Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Fort Lauderdale to Miami's downtown business district, says it will offer BandCon real-time data transfer capability, five-9s reliability, and a 24-hour monitoring system to reduce downtime.
"We are very pleased to work with FiberLight as we continue to build our brand and network around the country. Their optical transport services are a great fit for our content delivery system," said Ari Benowitz, CEO and founder of BandCon. The company's customers include MySpace, The Weather Channel, Neulion, Imeem, and Miniclip.com.
Judd Carothers, vice president of operations for FiberLight, added, "FiberLight's robust fiber-optic network enables us to accommodate the high bandwidth needs of BandCon with service speeds up to 10 Gbps while guaranteeing zero jitter and negligible latency."
