JUNE 26, 2008 -- Juniper Networks Inc. (search for Juniper) has announced that Comcast Corp. has ordered additional Juniper Networks MX-series Ethernet Services Routers and T1600 core routers.
Last year, Comcast began deploying the MX-series platforms to support business services offerings in major metropolitan areas throughout the U.S. The routers Comcast is now purchasing are expected to be incorporated later this year into the Company's metro regional network architecture, which carries traffic for all of its services.
"We're pleased to expand our relationship with Comcast to help support the delivery of their residential and business services," said Kim Perdikou, executive vice president and general manager, Infrastructure Products Group, Juniper Networks. "We believe this expansion will strengthen the relationship and could lead to new opportunities for Comcast to deploy Juniper's service-enabling network infrastructure in additional parts of its network, such as its Converged Regional Access Network."
