Fiber-optic links

Series 1244B fiber-optic links transmit video and four channels of audio over 62.5/125-micron multimode fiber. The links incorporate an 18-bit delta-sigma converter with a sampling rate of 48 kilohert¥for one pair of audio channels and standard analog processing for the second pair. Video performance features include a differential gain of less than 0.5% and a differential phase of less than 0.5 degree, with a video signal-to-noise ratio of greater than 60 dB. The system`s transmitter contains an indicator that verifies the presence of a valid video signal, a laser-fail LED and dual 10-segment audio-input displays. The receiver provides an optical level/loss LED in addition to output signal status LEDs for video and four audio channels.
