Sidera Networks, a provider of fiber optic-based network tools, has delivered a custom network system to Northalsted Business Alliance, enabling the organization to offer wireless broadband access to businesses and residents in Chicago's Northalsted community.
Northalsted Business Alliance, a partnership of businesses that maintains a shopping and entertainment district, selected Sidera to deliver Internet and data connectivity for its community wireless broadband project. Wireless broadband will serve as a "canopy" for the entire community to gain access to the Internet, says a spokesperson. Northalsted's new wireless hotspot enables anyone with a Wi-Fi-enabled device, such as a laptop or Smartphone, to receive a high-performance, portable link to the Internet.
"Our community is one of the most unique and exciting neighborhoods in Chicago. We are committed to preserving this reputation by delivering unrestricted, open Internet access to the entire community so residents can stay connected in this digital age," says Jay Lyon, president of the Northalsted Business Alliance. "The scalability of Sidera's network was particularly attractive to us because we anticipate a need to increase bandwidth, and having a provider who we know can do this quickly and seamlessly was key."
"Our team's expertise in private network design and implementation combined with our unique knowledge of the community made us the ideal partner for Northalsted's project," says Mike Sicoli, CEO of Sidera Networks. "Sidera's network technology and tools will support the Northalsted Business Alliance's mission to maintain a successful shopping and entertainment experience in the district."
