Hub telecom has partnered with Interdata, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MRV Communications Inc., to expand its service network in the Paris metropolitan area.

A subsidiary of Aeroports de Paris, Hub telecom includes not only the telecommunications operator for enterprises, but also Hub telecom region, a French provider of supply chain management services.

Using MRV’s optical transport and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) solutions including the MRV LambdaDriver, Interdata has designed backbone optical transport rings across the Paris Metropolitan area, enabling high-capacity, multi-service transport for Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE), and synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) services across Paris-Orly Airport, Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, and the greater Paris metro area.

Interdata will also provide carrier Ethernet exchange for international services and 99.999 service level availability (SLA) leveraging the MRV OptiSwitch and MRV Fiber Driver. Additionally, MRV will provide data center connectivity and disaster recovery services.

“As global travelers utilize a growing array of mobile devices, data consumption around France’s major airports will continue to increase exponentially. MRV’s applications will allow Hub telecom to quickly deploy additional capacity on its network to meet this growing demand for bandwidth,” says Thierry Poulain, CEO of Interdata.

“We are pleased to be working with Interdata and MRV on this critical network expansion,” explains Bernard Nahoum, services and operations director of Hub telecom. “Interdata’s deep knowledge and experience in designing and implementing carrier Ethernet solutions complemented with MRV’s flexible and scalable technology made them the obvious partner to assist us in completing the next step in our growth.”
