In a move to support the needs of cable operators as they increase their attention on the business services market, Telco Systems, a BATM company (LSE: BVC), says its T-Marc Ethernet demarcation device meets DOCSIS Provisioning of EPON (DPoE) 1.0 specifications as defined by CableLabs. Tests show the T-Marc demarcation device can be used in DPoE applications such as commercial services and wireless backhaul over EPON, Telco Systems asserts.
Telco Systems participated in a DPoE interoperability testing event at CableLabs with a variety of OLT manufacturers.
“By incorporating an EPON SFP with Telco Systems’ MEF-certified T-Marc Ethernet demarcation device, providers can expand their service offering to businesses, schools, hospitals, utilities, mobile operators, and government offices over an EPON network,” stated Irit Gillath, Director of Product Marketing at Telco Systems. “Standardized Ethernet OAM capabilities in the T-Marc enable providers to support service assured Ethernet services on a customer-by-customer basis, further differentiating their offering.”
