Telco-powered IE-MiniFiberLinX-II Media Converter expands IMC Networks product line

IMC Networks has expanded its optical network demarcation media converter family with the release of the telco-powered IE-MiniFiberLinX-II.

IMC Networks has expanded its optical network demarcation media converter family with the release of the telco-powered IE-MiniFiberLinX-II. The IE-MiniFiberLinX-II NID works with -48 VDC power that is compliant with the Bellcore GR-499 specification to support the minimum and maximum transient voltages typically required by transport equipment used in telco environments.

One version of the product offers “Last Gasp,” a trap notification feature that identifies possible power supply failure. Other key features include:

  • Standalone form factor
  • 100-Mbps fiber port
  • 10/100-Mbps twisted-pair port
  • Telco-compatible -48 VDC (-35 to -56.5 VDC)
  • Industrial equipment extended temperature of -45º C to +85º C
  • AC, DC power, and PoE/PD
  • IEEE 802.3af PoE/PD compliant
  • Remote SNMP management with iView2
  • Extra tagging using Q-in-Q mode (802.1p)
  • Broadcast storm protection
  • 802.1Q VLAN compatible.
  • Remote capabilities with built-in support for IMC’s UMA (IP-less management)

The IE-MiniFiberLinX-II is a miniature size module and is DIN Rail mountable.

The IE-MiniFiberLinX-II (datasheet PDF) is scheduled to ship in the third quarter of this year. Model 856-17727 with Last Gasp is listed at $650 and model 856-17627 without Last Gasp is listed at $590.
