Sorrento Networks partners with Terabeam Corporation for fiberless optics metro networking solution

May 22, 2001--Sorrento Networks, a supplier of end-to-end, intelligent optical networking solutions for metro and regional applications, announced its collaboration with Terabeam Corporation, a Fiberless Optics solutions provider.

Sorrento Networks (Nasdaq:FIBR), a supplier of end-to-end, intelligent optical networking solutions for metro and regional applications, announced its collaboration with Terabeam Corporation, a Fiberless Optics solutions provider. Terabeam uses Fiberless Optics to provide high-speed data connection services from enterprises to the Internet and between enterprise locations. Terabeam's collaboration with Sorrento enables Terabeam to deploy the Sorrento Networks GigaMux DWDM platform in its free-space backbone network to support transport of high bandwidth or multiple IP over Ethernet data streams.

The Terabeam network design can leverage Sorrento's DWDM solution, to provide Terabeam with the option for significant scalability, expanded network capacity and network resiliency. The combined solution addresses two necessities for an attractive selection of network services -- last mile access and capacity growth.
