APA Optics to debut new components at OFC 2003

Jan. 20, 2003
January 20, 2003--APA Optics will show new outside plant (OSP) splitters, LGX module splitters and arrayed waveguide gratings (AWG) DWDM components as part of its growing line of DWDM and passive optical network (PON) components at the upcoming OFC 2003 show in Atlanta.

APA Optics will show new outside plant (OSP) splitters, LGX module splitters and arrayed waveguide gratings (AWG) DWDM components as part of its growing line of DWDM and passive optical network (PON) components at the upcoming OFC 2003 show in Atlanta.

The reliability and performance of PON is a benefit derived from wide wavelength response and good port uniformity. These APA Optics OSP-ready splitters meet these requirements consistently and reliably. They simplify installation of PON field components. The splitter closure is re-enterable allowing node scalability. They are ideal for lowering first cost installation allowing for a "pay as you grow" network deployment.

The new LGX module splitters integrate into existing optical shelves in the central office and the headend of an optical access network. The LGX design allows accessibility to network ports while providing network modularity with pluggable modules.

The new AWG DWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer has an ultra low loss insertion of less than 3.5 dB. The module has 40 channels set on the ITU 100 GHz channel spacing. This AWG DWDM has an excellent 30 dB adjacent channel isolation and a low polarization-dependent loss (PDL) of 0.35 dB.

See these and the complete line of APA Optics (Blaine, MN) products at OFC 2003 in Booth #6950, or call APA Optics Inc. at 763-784-4995.
