Media translator

The twister fx media translator is a copper-to-fiber conversion solution for Ethernet and Fast Ethernet networks. The desktop device helps overcome the distance limitations of copper, accommodates high-bandwidth applications, and ensures data security. The translator is 30% smaller than the earlier version and contains aluminum die-cast housing for durability. Its link-loss carry-forward feature ensures that system administrators will be alerted should the network connection on one end of the "twister" fail. Transparent translation can be achieved between 100Base-TX and 100Base-FX media of all kinds, including singlemode and multimode SC and ST. The unit can transmit signal data over distances to 2 km over multimode fiber and 40 km over singlemode fiber-optic cable.
