Scientific-Atlanta Inc. (Atlanta, GA) was selected by Charter Communications (St. Louis, MO) to provide network equipment as part of a complete end-to-end upgrade of its 4200-mi cable-TV system in St. Louis. Terms of the award were not disclosed. The complete upgrade to a fiber-rich system is expected to include Scientific-Atlanta headend equipment, nodes, amplifiers, and taps. Charter has already begun work on the upgrade, and completion is expected in approximately 36 months.
