Polarization controller

The PM fiber adapter is a fully connectorized polarization controller that eliminates the need for fiber pigtails. It is suitable for interconnecting polarization-maintaining fibers using standard connects without having to align the birefringent axes of the PM fibers. The device can be used with high-speed telecommunications, wdm, cable-TV, fiber-laser, fiber-sensor, PM-fiber, and antenna-remoting systems. It features an intrinsic insertion loss of 0 dB and an insertion loss with connectors of 0.5 dB (typical, for 9/125-micron fiber). Intrinsic return loss is infinite, and with connectors, >65 dB for apc and >50 dB for PC. Operating wavelengths include 480, 633, 780, 820, 980, and 1060 nm as well as 1290 to 1600 nm. Any type of singlemode fiber may be used, though 9/125-micron is the standard. Operating and storage temperature is -40 to +80C.
