Attolight Corp. releases AttoReconstructor Fiber Bragg Grating design software

Feb. 6, 2002
February 6, 2002--Attolight Corp., developer of design tools and customized design/measurement software for optical fiber component manufacturers, has released its AttoReconstructor software for designing Fiber Bragg Gratings that computes the precise grating structure from the desired reflection and dispersion spectra.

Attolight Corp., developer of design tools and customized design/measurement software for optical fiber component manufacturers, has released its AttoReconstructor software for designing Fiber Bragg Gratings that computes the precise grating structure from the desired reflection and dispersion spectra.

Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG) are used in the implementation of various types of DWDM filters-- particularly those with steep amplitude response. According to the company, no other filter technology allows for as large a number of grating lines as FBG technology.

"This is the first time that an algorithm is accurate enough to enable the design of most practical filters and efficient enough to complete most designs in less than 1 minute on a typical PC," claims Attolight CEO Dr. Benoit Lussier.

"Attoreconstructor allows precise reconstruction, simulation of the reconstructed grating, chirp and bandwidth analysis", he adds, "and [it] has applications for advanced WDM filter designs, precise GFF designs, optical pulse shaper designs, optical code division multiplexing encoder/decoder designs."
