Arris claims that the result demonstrates its leadership with products ready for deployment in compliance to current VoIP standards.
The Touchstone Telephony Modem delivers up to two lines of telephony as well as high-speed tiered data service via a 10/100 Base T Ethernet or USB port in a new compact design. It provides 4 hours of battery back-up in the event of a power outage and is also available in an 8-hour battery back-up version
Arris says it "remains committed to supporting industry specifications, such as those managed by CableLabs, to provide operators with interoperable solutions."
