Movaz Networks, a provider of optical networking solutions, announced the award of a multi-million dollar contract from VIC TOKAI Inc., a network system integrator in Japan. In addition to offering enterprise customers a range of broadband services including DSL and CATV, VIC TOKAI can also provide turnkey network solutions encompassing comprehensive support and integration capabilities.
Movaz has been selected by VIC TOKAI as the exclusive supplier for the expansion of its existing optical fiber network infrastructure between Tokyo and Nagoya. The VIC TOKAI contract was established through a strategic relationship between NETMARKS and Movaz. NETMARKS, with extensive expertise in optical and IP technology, has become Japan's foremost distributor and systems integrator delivering state of the art consultation, integration and support services. To further cement the partnership, NETMARKS has also made a strategic funding investment in Movaz.
Movaz and NETMARKS have built three interlocking DWDM rings that will transport high speed optical Ethernet and traditional telecommunication services to over 30 sites, connecting 14 cities in the Kanto and Tokai areas of Japan. The VIC TOKAI network solution will feature Movaz's RAYexpress, a cost effective, feature rich OADM, and RAYextender, an erbium-doped fiber amplifier, deployed to support multi-hundred kilometer reach between OADM sites.
