Objective Systems Integrators (osi), Folsom, CA, and Positron Fiber Systems, Mt. Laurel, NJ, have struck a deal integrating Positron`s sonet system products with osi`s NetExpert network management software. NetExpert will manage the Positron sonet equipment in the production environments of competitive access providers and local exchange carriers. According to osi, NetExpert enables carriers to add Positron`s equipment to their networks, giving them sonet broadband access devices. The company says the agreement will also let network managers and operations managers monitor alarms and equipment status of networks with Positron`s system sonet products, allowing integration of osiris networks with existing OC-48 (2.5-Gbit/sec) and OC-192 (10-Gbit/sec) transport systems, digital crossconnects, and central office switches.
