Surface-emitting laser

The HFE4080-321 vertical cavity surface-emitting laser operates in a single-longitudinal mode but with multiple transverse modes that reduce coherence and consequent modal noise in multimode fiber applications. It can be used with Si or GaAs detectors, or with some InGaAs detectors. Operating temperature is 0 to +70°C and list price is $24.
