Summary
While webscale providers are early adopters of 400G coherent pluggable optics, communication service providers are just beginning, with initial deployments primarily in DWDM metro optical platforms. Deployment in third-party devices like routers is also happening with increasing IPoDWDM architectural adoption. Drivers for adoption include the reduced costs, size, and power of pluggable optics. However, this new deployment model poses new operational challenges to network operators.
But coherent pluggables are not just for metro data center interconnection (DCI) applications. Intelligent, coherent pluggables address various operator challenges at the network's edge, including cost-effective single fiber working transmission, high-speed business services delivery over PON, and point-to-multipoint aggregation. In parallel, 800G coherent pluggables are developing and starting to enter the market. With increased performance and interoperability, 800G will redefine expectations for pluggable transceivers.
During this webinar we will explore the revolution of pluggable transceivers, focusing on the latest advancements in this technology. We will discuss various types of modern pluggable transceivers and the innovative technologies enabling them to achieve lower power consumption while delivering higher bandwidth. We’ll also address what ZR/ZR+ optics means to operators regarding testing and maintaining those links.
