Tim Yount

Tim Yount brings over 25 years of optical network and fiber testing experience to the world of fiber education. He is co-founder of Fiber Insight which specializes in fiber technology education and training, and provides custom network consulting services. Tim has spent his entire career in the fiber industry and has worked for major fiber equipment providers including JDSU, Agilent Technologies, Tektronix, and Siecor. He has been instrumental in new product launches, and has extensive field experience working with technicians and operations management to deploy and troubleshoot fiber networks. Today he is widely considered a subject matter expert in testing fiber network infrastructure, including advanced impairments in high-speed networks. He is a member of the Fiber to the Home Council and has participated in the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) in advanced fiber testing topics. A Maine resident, Tim is a member of the Maine Broadband Coalition working to bring fiber networks to businesses and residents in the state.
