Amit Khanna

Research Engineer

Amit Khanna is a Research Engineer at imec, Belgium. Currently, he leads the imec silicon photonics PDK development effort. He is also responsible for development of a turn-key integrated photonic service solution for prototyping and low volume production. He also manages the silicon photonics MPW operations at imec. Previously (2011-2014) he was the manager of ePIXfab-The Silicon Photonics Platform. In 2010, he worked as Optical Engineering Consultant for Nanocomp Oy, Finland, and was a visiting researcher at College of Optical Sciences, University of Arizona, in 2009.

He continues to work for multiple EU projects in H2020 framework (previously FP7). Amit has co-authored several journal publications, conference proceedings, and book chapters, and has given invited talks on integrated photonics. Amit obtained a PhD in Optoelectronics (2015) and M.Sc. in Nanotechnology (2008) from Aalto University, Finland, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications (2006) from Manipal University, India.
