- FBR's RTS acquisition deepens its design, engineering and deployment capabilities
- FBR can further scale its operations to target new broadband opportunities
- The acquisition follows the appointment of Matthew Glass as CEO
FBR Solutions, a provider of telecommunications infrastructure services, has acquired RTS Associates, further expanding its national capabilities in telecommunications design, engineering, and turnkey deployment.
The acquisition enhances FBR Solutions’ ability to deliver end-to-end network solutions at scale and reinforces its position in the broadband infrastructure space.
Since its founding in 1998, RTS Associates has focused on providing telecommunications design and engineering services to major telecommunications operators, municipalities, EMCs, CATV, and wireless carriers. RTS will bring 250 North American employees to FBR.
The leaders of FBR and RTS praised the new union to scale.
“This acquisition accelerates our ability to serve clients with full life-cycle capabilities, from design through deployment, in support of the nation's critical broadband expansion efforts,” said Matthew Glass, CEO at FBR Solutions.
Steven Gray, Chief Operating Officer at RTS and EVP of Engineering at FBR, agreed and added, “Joining forces with FBR Solutions creates new opportunities to scale our impact.”
The deal is backed by FVLCRUM Funds, a growth-focused private equity firm dedicated to supporting the development of broadband infrastructure in underserved communities.
FBR’s RTS acquisition comes at a transitional time for the company.
In June, FBR Solutions named Matthew Glass as its new CEO. A telecommunications veteran with over 25 years of leadership experience, Glass will lead FBR Solutions’ next phase of growth, expanding its capabilities in network design, engineering, and construction nationwide.
