Fidium, GoFibre, GoNetspeed, Greenlight Networks, Highland Broadband, Kinetic, LiveOak Fiber and NOVOS FiBER are using a mix of public and private funding to extend broadband into more communities.
Fidium launches fiber network in Windham, expanding connectivity for the community
Fidium has expanded its multi-gig internet service to Windham, Maine, bringing its fiber network to more than 7,500 homes and businesses. Fidium’s expansion of its fiber network, which began in November, brings all the benefits of access to a fiber broadband connection to Windham. Today, over 360,000 Maine homes and businesses have access to Fidium, including Portland, Westbrook and Scarborough. More communities will be connected soon, including Gorham, Old Orchard Beach, Saco and Wells.
GoFibre plans expansion targeting Scotland and Northern England

GoNetspeed plans to expand fiber to Cape Cod with a Yarmouth build
GoNetspeed announced that the Town of Yarmouth will soon gain access to its fiber-based broadband service. The $8.5 million investment in Yarmouth signifies the first community on the Cape to gain access to symmetrical upload and download speeds, serving more than 9,100 homes and businesses. GoNetspeed plans to begin construction in 2026, with the first residents and businesses set to be connected to fiber internet as early as the fall of that year. Yarmouth joins Amherst, Easthampton, Granby, and Ludlow in gaining access to GoNetspeed service.
Greenlight Networks brings fiber internet to Pennsylvania
Greenlight Networks has launched its fiber internet expansion project in Pennsylvania. The company is investing more than $13 million to expand its fiber network into Northeast Pennsylvania, starting with Dickson City, one of the first municipalities in Pennsylvania to benefit from this expansion. Greenlight plans to provide service to more than 10,000 homes and small businesses in Lackawanna County by the end of 2026. As part of this expansion, Greenlight is partnering with the Dickson City Community Center, providing complimentary internet access to support this community asset. Greenlight’s multi-gigabit fiber services feature data speeds as high as 8 Gbps with a base speed of 500 Mbps for just $50 monthly.
Highland Broadband lights gigabit broadband in UK’s slowest broadband town
Highland Broadband has transformed internet connectivity in Halkirk, Scotland, a village previously identified as the UK’s slowest broadband location in a 2023 study by Broadband Genie. Leveraging Adtran's XGS-PON fiber access technology, the new network delivers gigabit speeds to homes and businesses, removing the digital barriers that once held the community back. Until now, residents have faced slow, unreliable connections with limited education, remote work, and economic opportunities.
Kinetic extends fiber broadband to Baldwin County, Ga.
Kinetic inaugurated Lake Sinclair and east Baldwin County, Georgia’s fiber internet expansion, connecting over 700 households in the area. This $1.9 million project represents a collaborative effort between state and local governments and Kinetic to enhance digital connectivity and bridge the digital divide in the region. The local Baldwin community has access to over 266,000 feet of high-speed fiber cable, bringing fast internet speeds to their homes and businesses. The Baldwin County project has been funded through more than $920,000 from the State Fiscal Recovery Fund (SFRF), and a county match of $151,000. Kinetic invested $817,000 of its funds to bolster Baldwin County’s digital infrastructure and ensure residents can access fast internet services. Kinetic, the State of Georgia, and 25 counties have partnered to invest over $354 million in Georgia broadband infrastructure development since the U.S. Department of Treasury’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was enacted in 2021.
LiveOak Fiber now reaches 25K subscribers
LiveOak Fiber has surpassed 25,000 subscribers to its internet services in Florida and Georgia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth since its launch in 2022. The provider steadily expands its reach across Florida and Georgia, bringing high-speed fiber internet to communities from Pensacola and Panama City Beach to Tybee Island, Skidaway Island, and the Golden Isles.
NOVOS FiBER and PRIME FiBER make $130M fiber internet investment in Arizona
NOVOS FiBER has launched its largest investment to date in Phoenix, Arizona, where construction is underway. It is the sister arm to PRIME FiBER, a wholesale open-access play currently deploying fiber infrastructure in Florida. Both businesses are backed by InLight Capital, a private investment firm based in Sugar Land, Texas. The company has prioritized Phoenix and the surrounding cities and has reportedly earmarked over $130 million of investment for the extended market.
