Bluebird Fiber builds a tailored fiber and voice service solution for Cuivre River Electric Cooperative
Bluebird Fiber has established a middle-mile fiber partnership with Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, Missouri’s largest electric distribution cooperative, based in Troy, MO. The cooperative serves more than 70,000 members.
This collaboration illustrates how Bluebird can create network solutions tailored to the needs of critical utility operations.
Bluebird designed a fully customized solution leveraging its fiber backbone with ring topology, giving Cuivre River Electric dual-path fiber diversity and seamless failover capabilities.
Also, Bluebird’s dedicated SIP voice services, delivered over private, engineered circuits, ensure the reliability and control required for a modern utility infrastructure.
Being an electric cooperative that is one of the largest of Missouri's 40 consumer-owned electric distribution cooperatives, the deployment illustrates the common thread in how electric cooperatives serve communities: a local presence that focuses on being proactive and ensuring service quality.
Chris Ryan, VP of member engagement and technology for Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, said the partnership with Bluebird “is all about strengthening the backbone of our internal operations and ensuring our teams have the robust connectivity they need.”
Likewise, Bluebird's customer win gives it a proof point it can use as it pursues similar opportunities with other electric cooperatives.
