MultiLane: ML7004F-L 224G/Lane BERT in the MultiWave Test Platform

Feb. 26, 2025
MultiLane has responded to 224 Gbps/lane challenges for network design and testing with its ML7004F-L platform.

MultiLane has responded to 224 Gbps/lane challenges for network design and testing with its ML7004F-L, a production BERT tailored to meet the growing demands of AI-driven data centers and high-speed networks. A 4-channel 224Gbps/lane BERT, the ML7004F-L provides a solution for R&D and production. Equipped with up to 40 dB of Rx equalization, the ML7004F-L can validate passive and active interconnects, including Linear Pluggable Optics (LPOs) and high-density backplane cables. This versatility is further enhanced by the new MultiWave Test Platform (MWTP), a multi-instrument chassis that can house up to four ML7004F-L BERTs for 16-channel testing. The stackable, space-saving design of the MWTP also supports scalability, allowing multiple units to be housed in a rack, further enhancing testing capacity. During R&D, it provides essential BER and SNR readings for early-stage error detection and can be integrated with oscilloscopes for eye measurements. The same BERT delivers fully automated pass/fail testing using the MultiLane Ultimus software in production.
JUDGE’S COMMENT: "By designing the ML7004F-L BERT to support both 224-Gbps lanes as well as linear pluggable optics, MultiLane has entered the market for next-generation AI network testing at the starting line for such applications."
